Help! I used a copy of Norton Ghost 6.0 to copy the contents of the only partation on my C: drive to my D: drive. After completing the operation and attempting to reboot, I get the message "NTDLR missing". Booted with the W2K cd and ran Fixboot, I still have the same problem.

Do you have a repair disk? It's not bootable so you will have to create a startup disk (actually 4 disks) located I think in the deploy folder of your 2000 server CD. You will want to choose the makeboot executable. Boot from those disks and it will ask you if you want to use a repair disk. First time you try only select system files. If you don't your registry will be messed up and very hard to fix if at all.

Or if you can boot from CD ROM just put the CD in and boot up. Then let it run teh setup like it normally would. Select Repair Windows Installation.

Select Manual Repair
make sure all 3 boxes are X'd and then hit enter.. this will add NTLDR.

Done it 1/2 dozen times after putting ZoneAlarm on it.

I am having a similar problem. I'm running Adv. Server and was having several problems so I tried to reinstall the OS. I've got the repair disk for every computer of mine except the one that is having the problems.

Now I get NTLDR missing. I can get to the CDROM but it would not install ntdlr,
I tried Rick's suggestion and that did not work.

I tried steveko's suggestion, but when I got to the files via the command line interface I could only use the limited cmds there. So I do not know how to execute makeboot.

I don't know what to do next?
