Help!
Here is my woeful tale...
I am upgrading a notebook from win98 to win2000 Pro. This notebook has two partitions, a CD player that doesn't work and a tired battery (i.e., the notebook must be plugged in). A drag -- but still an OK PC for basic use.
I installed win2000 pro over the network, chose to reformat the drive and do a new install instead of upgrading. Win2000 installed on the "D" drive (the extended partition) and I formatted that drive NTFS leaving FAT32 on "C" (the boot partition).
So upon reboot I had a dual boot system.
Not thinking, I reformatted "C" to NTFS. I realized that I had unintentionally deleted NTLDR and other critical files so left the room to go to a networked PC to re install Win2000.
Upon my return my dog had run across the room and tripped over the cord unplugging the notebook.
So now I have this notebook with nothing on the boot partition, (NTFS), win2000 on the extended partition (NTFS) and no CD drive. So I get nothning except the lovely "NTLDR is Missing" error message on start up.
I am stuck and don't know what to do. If I could boot up to something and connect to the network I believe I might be fine...
Thought suggestions?!
