This is very weird to me. In a win2k AD domain setup we created a new account for a new user. We login to a former employee's system with this new account info. We go to map a network drive and BAM - nothing in My Network Places! Search for computers and you can see them all. Log into another account on the system (local or domain) and My Network Places is normal. Login to a new account on that system, and it's normal and fine. We went to a different system, logged into the renegade account and again, nothing in the My Network Places. Went back to the server, deleted the renegade account, recreated it - still nothing. Took a just-resigned employee's account that was on that system and changed the info to reflect the new user. Log in using the new info and yes it's the old employee's user account with his weird desktop and everything and when we went to the previously normal My Network Places again - everything was gone! Actually not though - the previously defined my network places were still in there, but Add Network Place and Entire Network were not there! The same thing is reflected in Windows Explorer of course. We're beginning to think that AD just doesn't like this user's name - any ideas?
