Hi all,

Having a bit of a problem with lotus notes vR5.

Can anyone help?

The probem is that I have about 50 users that are able to send mail instantly from the network to other users, except for this one person that when she sends mail from the network, the email goes straight in to her Outgoing mailbox on Local and sits there until the user closes notes where then she is prompted with a message saying mail is sitting in her outgoing box would she like to send now. When she hits yes the mail is sent.

I would like to know what is makeing it sit in the local outgoing box and how can i change it to be sent out instantly when she presses the send button.

I have tested her mail from my computer as well as right at the server and the email goes straight out when the send button is pushed. So it must be something on her computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ben

You guys using pop3 or the standard domino ? double check her connection and location documents, make sure she has her client set to the correct location (not set to island or home when it should be office, etc). if none of that is it, go through her location preferences in the file menu.

Hi Mike,

We are using domino. I have checked everything already. Her location settings, and preferences, everything is set to standard.

She can recieve emails without problems and when she closes notes a messages comes up saying there is still messages in her outbox does she want to send them. And as soon as she hits yes they go immediatly.

The whole problem is why do they sit in her outbox when she hits send. I have searched notes support site and also gone through numerous FAQ's about this problem but have come up empty handed. There must be a setting somewhere that i am missing for this but i cant find it :(

Do you have any other advise you can give me?

Thanks

hmmm, I don't know of a specific setting as I have never seen that occur. try going to file/preferences/user preferences/basics and look at the security options button as there are a few settings in there and also on the mail button in the same preferences. I'd like to know the resolution if you find one. also, is she a standard user ? meaning is she the only one that uses the ws? she doesn't have her id on diskette or anyhting does she ? sorry I am not more helpful

hi Mike,

Sorry for not getting back to you. The problem was never solved in the end the hard drive crashed and when we put in a new one and did a re-image everything was back to normal. Just one of those things i guess. Hopefully we wont see that problem again.

My fingers are crossed hehe.

Thanks for your help though :)
