Not able to join 2000 DC

Initall we have one NT 4.0 PDC and NT 4.O BDC ,then we have purhased new server for migrating NT.4.0 to 2000 DC. I have sucessfully migrated One of the NT 4.0 BDC to 2000 DC, ok old nt 4.0 BDC migrated with 2000 Aditional domain controller (ADC) now in my network one NT 4.0 BDC , one 2000 DC and one 2000 ADC. when i see the server manager its showing 2000 DC has Primary , remaining as backup ok here iam getting error my client 2000 member server can;t join DC , its giving network path not found . what was the problem.if any bosy can help iam greatful thanks to them

Okay don't ask me why but this same thing happened to me this weekend. I found that by manually adding the DNS server, which for me was the Win2k Active directory server, to the client's IP settings it would allow me to add the machine to the domain. I don't know why this fixed the problem for me because there are no DNS problems in the network, and I can access the server by name and ip without doing that. But, in order to add a computer to the domain, I had to put the dns in manually...
First thing to remember when migrating to Win2K...always always migrate the PDC first. Doing otherwise will result in headaches and complications. Do the PDC first (Win2K "acts" as a PDC until migration is complete), and then you can migrate the BDC's.
