I have had Norton SystemWorks on this box since it was built about a year ago. A few days ago, several things happened at once. I can no longer launch Norton SystemWorks or Norton Anti-Virus; double clicking the icon (from desktop or explorer) gives a brief hourglass and then nothing. Noron Win Doctor worked and reported a problem with Mapisrvr.exe and gapi32.dll. This has been fixed. And lastly, my QuickLaunch toolbar disappeared and cannot be replaced with right-clicking. I have already checked for the 'ClassicShell' file in the registry and it is not there. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Norton with the same results. I should note that my virus subscription is about to expire, but that has never caused the progrm to stop responding.

Other info: the hard drive is partitioned into three parts and Norton is installed on the D drive. For whatever reason, nmain.exe resides on the C drive (but apparently also did while the program worked. Other piece of info: have been using Ad-Aware lately (newest program on the machine, in fact). Any known problems with these two programs?

Try Uninstalling it, deleting it's directory and then reinstalling it.

Unfortunately, this has not been an effective solution. I have now uninstalled and reinstalled three times without success. I can still launch individual components of SystemWorks, but cannot bring up the integrator or launch the main program at all. I have followed the Symantec instructions for uninstalling as well. I am now waiting for the 2004 upgrade to arrive. Hopefully that will solve one problem. Still have no Quick Launch toolbar and cannot recreate it.
