I have read information on Norton Internet Security Professional and ZoneAlarm Pro 4 but still do not know which is better.
I already have the Norton Antivirus 2003 on my computer but no other protection. This protection has served me well. Now I have learned that I need additional security.
I use my computer a lot and need an excellent virus protector and need a firewall and all the extras (hackler protection….).
Can someone tell me?
• Which is better Norton Internet Security Professional or ZoneAlarm Pro 4?
• Can you use the Norton Antivirus 2003 with the ZoneAlarm?
• Which will protect me the best?I appreciate all the help you can give me.

Personally, I think ZoneAlarm is one of the best software Firewalls out there. This is like the Coke vs. Pepsi debate and depends on personal preference and what you are looking to do and how much you like to tweak the settings yourself. It also depends on what you get used to. If you read independent reviews, ZA is always in the top 2 or 3. Norton is also good and may have a few extra but you certainly can't go wrong using ZA. Also of people also like the Sygate Firewall but I've found holes in that, like not blocking broadcast messages but it is also a good product.
Good luck.

Glen,
Does that mean that ZA's antivirus protection is just as good as, if not better than, Norton's?Will I have to remove my Norton Antivirus while using ZA?
Sorry that I am still a little confussed.
Thanks for the help

AntiVirus software is not firewall software. The two having nothing to do with each other and their functions are seperate. Some 'packages' will include both. ZA does no virus protection. It works fine with Nortons AntiVirus software. Norton is my favorite AV software.

Use Kerio Personal Firewall !
I have currently version 2.1.5 and I'm very satisfied. It is free for personal use.
www.kerio.com
They have also new version, which is VERY enhanced, but also a bit complicated..

I have used ZA for some time with very good results. My anti-virus AVG program is from grisoft.com and has been very effective.

I use the free version of ZA and AVG antivirus free edition and have had no problems with either.

I use the pro version of za because it will quaretine all attachments to email and even rename the extensions until you can decide if it is ok to open.
Also use Norton for AV, no infections despite haveing an always on dsl connection.
