My system has lost all sound and seems to be associated with QuickTime. I have run the uninstall and it does not completely remove the program. It appears that others have had problems such as this with this program. Does anyone have any suggestions?

found my sound, but get message "system\current control set\control\virtual device drivers. VDD virtual device driver format in the registry is invalid. Choose 'close' to terminate the application. Or choose ignore. If I choose ignore it seems to skip over this problem and display as it should. However, if someone sends me an e-mail with a quicktime attachment, it can't open it. I think I have a corrupted file, but I now cannot download the new version because I get the same error message as above. Anyone familier with this?
