Comment:

I installed Windows Media Player 9 and now have NO sound. No sound at start up or for any files. I have 2 other programs capable of playing audio and video and they don't have sound. Sound options don't have any sound for windows sound preview. System acts as if it is playing, including the display during songs.

1. Check your speakers, a compact CD player should work.

2. (TURN OFF POWER) Then open up your PC. Carefully wiggle your sound card to ensure it is seated properly, then turn your computer back on, and try it. If it still doesn't work, unscrew the screws take it out and put it back in. If it still doesn't work, it's most likely time to buy a new sound card.
