Comment: hi here is the problem I'm having with my computer. few days ago I tried to shut down my computer I realized there is no shut down option. when I got to start -> shut down, I only get log off option. so now the only way i can shut it down is to use the switch on the tower... however, last week everthing was ok, I didn't install or remove nothing. it was ok on Friday then on monday I found out all other options are gone... I search perious messages in this webside I couldn't find any answer... you help is really apreciated. thanks

Reply: (edit)Can you shut down from a Ctrl-Alt-Del and then select ShutDown? Why do you want to shut down a server in the first place? :) Life is more painless for those who are brainless.

Reply: (edit)Alex, your user name does not have permission to shut down that machine. Either add yourself to the Admin group, or log in as admin and change the GPO to include your user name.
