No PCs showing up in My Network Places

I clean-installed Win2k Server over an existing WinNT 4.0 server. I've set it up as the PDC, added all other users and computers (via AD users and computers). None of the other PCs (a mix of Win98 and NT4) show in the My Network Places, and when they login their computer says there is no domain controller.

Double check the IP address (if you are using TCP-IP) 'Ipconfig' @command prompt. Make sure its the same as the network. Might try reassigning client computers to 'new' domain (even if same name as before).

In W2K Server there are no PDC's; only domain controllers, member servers, and standalones. The client computers must join the domain (the server name), or all must be members of the SAME workgroup. You must also 'share' the drives on both server & clients. In Win 98, go to Control Panel -> Network -> double click Client for Microsoft Networks -> check 'Log on to Windows NT Domain and enter the name of the Server. (you must reboot). You may also need to add a non-routable protocol, such as NetBEUI or NWLink.
