hello all i got a BIG problem here!
I was running xp fine and then my system crached so i installed a tape drive and second hdd to install win 2k then backup up the files and formatted my drive, then i restored the files and copied my partition1 to my original drive using ptmagic
But when i took out my second hdd (the old one) i loaded win2k and it worked until login and then it would beep and say "your pagefile is too small or one does not exist please create one or increase your pagefile" or something lika that and then it would log off and bac on with the same message but no desktop or anything!!!!
It does this in safe mode too and i dont have a network so how can i do this???Thx in advance!!!

I have a very similar problem and tried the fdisk /mbr. (Response 2) I can't try response3 because I can't get past the login screen. (just gives limited virtual mem error) I've also tried going through the w2k cd fix install but didn't work either.
I've tried putting the partitions back the way they are and my computer logs in but then hangs for about 1-2 minutes, then cycles throught the log in again. (It is currently set to auto log on)HELP any more ideas?

Must not have done the right "repair". boot the os cd via the bios. Install will start. when you get to the screen for new or repair existing choose repair. once in reapply the service packs since you are at default install again. this will keep your apps and data intact.
