I have Windows 2000 Pro on a desktop on an NT4 LAN. I am the sysadmin but for some strange reason I can no longer map network drives using Explorer.
Ifr I load Explorere and navigate to 'My Network Places' and expand all and right-click on a network share the 'Map Network drive' option on the menu is grayed out. Also the Map Network drive button seems to have disappeared too.
I can't remember when it last did work but it did.
I looked in the registry at: HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Adv anced and check the value MapNetDrvBtn = 1 but cannot see which setting is inhibiting it.
If anyone can suggets which registry value needs resetting I'd be much obliged.

i feel this is an access rights problem....try going into the windows pro as an admin of the local machine or as an administrator of the domain...and see whether you are able to get the options

I can still map drives from a command prompt so it's not the end of the world, just annoying.
