Hi there, hopefully you can help....

When I insert my data key into the computer, it shows the icon on my toolbar at the bottom but when I go to My Computer there is no sign of the drive.

So basically, I can remove the key from the system (which the computer recognises)but I can't actually send any data to save onto it?!?!

... "data key" ?? do you mean USB key?

... are you service packed?

some Win2k service pack Links here

... you might be able to navigate to the key via the dos-box.

CD\ [ENTER]

E: [ENTER]

F: [ENTER]

... What ever the drive is then use copy commands.

Sorry I meant USB key!

This is a wierd one...I cant access it through the method you suggested either.

I see the icon on the toolbar but just cant get into it all.

I doubt I'm service packed, I have used this same key before but now I cant get into it all.

try [press] win(flag)key+pause goto
hardware > device manager ... does it show up in the disk drives?
... if it does r/click goto properties and look for assigning drive letter related options.
... is there a red marker on it?
... if so update driver.
