Howdy I have recently installed Win 2000 as a duel boot with 98 on other partition. Internal modem works fine in 98 so don't think its hardware prob....but in 2000 it won't dial out. I have searched for the latest drivers and have tried the 3 I have found and all seems fine....says working fine in device manager but when I try to connect to the internet it says hardware failure modem may not be connected, etc drivers used are not digitally signed by MS but cannot find any that are. Modem is MR 2800 internal Thanks

According to Microsoft HCL site, that modem is supported (or a specific Chipset of it).
The Driver is available as a Windows Update. http:/v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com and check out the drivers updates.
Also try : http://www.windowsxp-drivers.com/drivers/57/57830.htm
You'll have to register to download (it's free)
Have you goone to the modem properties and performed a diagnostics on the Modem ? Good Luck.

Thanks SJafiu The driver link worked ....though had to re format 2000 partition and do clean install. I think having the old drivers present messed with the new.
