I installed Win2000 Pro upgrade on a Win 98 machine for a friend. I can not access the context menu from the desktop via right click. Desktop flashes/resets. Also, clicking on "File" in a folder (i.e. My Documents) will do the same thing - no access/flash/reset to original window state. No error msg. Is this a security setting somewhere that I am missing? A registry entry perhaps? I reinstalled Win 2000, ran the repair feature, etc. DirectX is up to date. Everything works fine except ability to create new folders and view context menu on desktop. This occurs on all Users including Administrator.

I have an idea, but i am not sure it is work.
1. GO TO START TYPE GPEDIT.MSC IN RUN BOX
2. GO TO ADMINISTRATIVE TEMPLATES ON LEFT LIST
3. GO TO DESKTOP ON RIGHT LIST
4. SEE WHETHER REMOVE PROPERTIES FROM MY COMPUTER CONTENT MENU IS ENABLED.

IF IT IS USEFUL, PLEASE REPLY ME. Thanks!
