Hi Guys. Its Oldhobo.
I have struck a problem, I can see animated gif on my Computer. But if I view them on the web, or download them they dont work, they are stationary just like a jpg file. I am sure no settings have been changed, well not by me, unless the computer has changed any by itself. I have checked the settings in Internet Explorer / Multimedia, and yes Play Animations and show Pictures are Ticked.
Any help to solve this problem will be thankfully received, its got me stumped.

It is a bug in Win2k server and Win2kpro.If you copy th esame file to other computer runnign Win9x or Win2k it will animate there but not on your system.

I dont know if It is possible to remove the bug.

It's certainly NOT a bug in W2Kpro - I can view animated gif's in IE (5.5 and now 6) and in IrfanView.

I dont have an answer to your question.

On some machines [doesnt matter which OS] i notice that when you attempt to save an image off the web your only given the option to save the file as a bitmap.

If this is your problem and if you were to save the animated gif as a bitmap it wont be animated. Your only shown the first frame in the gif.

As i said.. i dont have an answer to your question but it might be worth looking into.

Thanks Guy's.
But Mesich set me right. I run Zone Alarm Pro and it had one of the settings set to block animation. Just thought you all might like to know.
Have a nice day.
