No 80 conductor cable installed????

Hey, When I start my computer up it says Primary IDE channel no 80 conductor cable installed?? is that bad?? the reason I ask is becuase my computer keeps restarting everytime I close a program.

If you have a 100 or 133 ata hard drive you need the 80 wire cable. You can pick one up at your local pc store for 3 or 4 dollars.
If you bought a retail version hd it should have come with the cable.

Not too sure about this, but did I read somewhere that Win2K does not recognise ata100 hdd, and reverts back to 66 (or something)
may be worth a check cos if so then 80 wire connector will be no use anyhow ... Somebody know fer sure??
