I am having problems with a single NIC card on a single computer in our network. This card cannot access the network and cannot ping an outside source. This card displays a 169.*.*.* address instead of our 10.2.*.* address. I cannot release the adpaters with ipconfig because it says that none of the adapters are releasable.
Sounds like auto ip addressing is what's happening to you. Given that no other pc's are having problems getting addresses from your dhcp server... i'd suggest checking your network connection.
