Comment: Can someone please tell me how i can convert my hard drive from NTFS to FAT32. i am running a win2000 client. Alternativly i would like yo know how i can format the hard drive of the machine as it still has NT4 installed on it and i am unaware of how to get rid of it. thanks in advance!

Reply: you have to use a program like partition magic.there are several like it. NTFS writes to the root directory. that has to be removed.Operating systems boot disk will not do this.

Reply: you can't convert a NTFS to FAT, mark my words. even though you can convert a fat to ntfs.

Reply: PM 7x will allegedly allow it for Pro. http:/www.powerquest.com System Commander also allegedly allows ntfs >>> fat32. http://www.v-com.com Formatting a drive with NT on it? Need more details on HD partitions etc., as there 'may' a couple of possible routes to go - depending on just how you want to go about it, and also what OS you may wish to install afterwareds...

Reply: Now & Ski it is not impossible and can very easily be done with Partition Magic. I have done this on over 20 machines.

Reply: Get your 4 Windows2000 install disks. Load them up untill you get to the create/delete partition part of the setup. First delete the NTFS partition and then create a new partition. Format the new partition FAT32.
