I just put a new video card in my pc. ATI 9550 AGP w 256Meg memory on card. I was going through my cmos manual and there are options specifically for video settings. One option is to adjust agp aperture size. The defualt value for the board is 128M, but my card has 256 on it. Should I increase this to 256?
The other option that can increase video performance is to enable AGP Fast Write. The default value for my board is AGP Fast Write disabled. The manual for my board recommends I enable Agp fast write to increase performance if my ATI card supports this. However, my manual for the ATI card does not indicate if it is supported or not. Should I enable this option? Does my ATI card support AGP fast Write? Thanks for the help. Darren

There are manu schools of thought on AGP aperture size. With that amount of memory on the video card I would set the aperture down to maybe 32. You can experiment a little. Under no circumstances should you set it to equal your RAM. Don't know about fast writes. Mine is disabled and the ATI 9200 card is running at 8x.
