I recently noticed that I am now unable to create a new text document via the right click>new>text document . I have tried using tweak ui to add the txt document template back into the context menu, but it never actually appears. I am at a loss and was wondering if there is some more manual way to add it back in the registry. Other templates can be added via tweak ui. I have trouble adding anything to do with txt or other text formats such as rtf. Word 2000 was installed which makes me think it took over. Thanks for any help.

Hmm, I fixed it. I basically deleted the current .txt file type in folder options (another program took over the file type and refused to let me reset... go figure) then I went into HKCR\.txt and added ShellNew key with a Nullfile string value set to nothing.
