I have weird thing happening: every time I boot the comp up, the messages comes up that it is installing primary and secondary IDE devices or something. after it is done, it asks to restart the system. IF I don't everything works just fine, and if I do, it works just as well. It doesn't happen if the system is restarted, only if I cold boot it. No big deal, but Very annoying. The sys is: Cyrix 200, 64MB Ram, on some cheap no name board w/video/sound built in (sound is disabled).

You probably need to install the cheap, no name IDE drivers for the motherboard. It appears that the drivers supplied by W2K are not a match for your cheap, no name board. Check at cheapnonameboard.com for the latest drivers.
