OK, here's my question/problem.
I am mostly familiar with networking with windows 98. I use a 2000 server, and 98 clients. The 98 clients are all set to log on to the NT domain.
They each have assigned user names ie:

User name: JOE
Password: joe
domain: HBI

So now I've installed Win2k workstation and I can't figure out how to get it talking to my network.

We currentlyuse tcp/ip without assigned IP's. DHCP is used for wins resolution. DNS is assigned by server/whoever.

Where and how do I set this up in 2k? I see the tcp/ip settings but they are different- nothing about DHCP, Wins resolution. I don't get that startup screen that I'm used to in 98 that makes you type in your user name and password and Domain at startup/login.

did you join this machine to the Domain during install? By default, during installation, win2k will set your machine to use DHCP. you can type "ipconfig /all" at the command prompt to see what settings you have.

you will have to have this machine join the domain to be allowed to use its resources.
mail me if you have more questions.
