I set up a home network in my home and I custom built both systems so no one else is involved with setting it up. I can't send files from winME to the Win2000 system because of some password. Like I said, I built the systems so I know and used all passwords. WHERE CAN I CHANGE THE SETTINGS for the password for networking. Also, sometimes I see a "Blocked by an Administrator" or something like that even knowing that I am the admin, logged in as one, and know all the admin passwords.

HELP PLEASE

A few things.
1. Check that the Win2k system has an account with the same name and password as the acount on WinME.
2. Have the NetBEUI protocol installed on both systems. Many people say that this is not necessary but it makes networking between 98 and 2000 for me alot easier.

would agree with Chris's point 1, only do point 2 if point one doesn't fix it (it should). Have 2 network protocols is an unnecessary overhead. TCP/IP works perfectly well with all versions of windows. If both your machines had external IP addresses (ie, supplied by ISP), then netbeui would be a good idea for the LAN - but normally you have one IP address which is shared by a router or ICS.
