Hi All,
My company has a small LAN consisting of 10 computers including a Domain Controller. All workstation has been given an IP of 192.168.1.X series. We share broadband internet connection attached to a Workstation(192.168.1.1).
My problem is that when we have problem with broadband connection or if ISP is having some problem, workstation's take too much time to start.

The ISP connection should not affect the workstations starting up unless they are running some kind of software on startup that demands an internet connection. Do you have good AV and anti-spybot software running?

i reckon you have the pc's dns set to the router instead of the servers own ip address, i had this problem where the maqchines were looking at internet traffic to log on to the local domain controller. ensure you have Bypass proxy for local addresses option ticked in the LAN connection properties of internet explorer.. hope this helps :)
