I have a peer-to-peer network in 5 computers.
When i add win200 comp, it shows and gives access to all other computers. But when i am looking for data in win2000 comp. from other comp. it asks for password in 1 computer and other comp says win2000 comp (user name) not accecible.
I have checked everything possible

anybody has solution.

Have you shared the drives on the 2000 computer, giving them permission from the particular users who are logged in at the other workstations? Or you might even want to just share them to "everyone".

Have the same problem then suryakant. I have connected 2 computers (1 with win98, 1 with win2000). From my win2000 computer I can access the win98 computer, but not the other way round. All drives are fully shared.

Since I installed the new drivers (both win98 and win2000) for my Realtek 8029(AS) cards, I am SOMETIMES able to connect from win98 to win2000 and if it works, it work faster then the opposite way!!! But unfortunately this connection works only quite rarely.

You must set up the W2K computer to have a "user" that corresponds to the other computer user's name and password. Otherwise, W2K's security will not let them in. As Bob says, you must also "share" the W2K drive(s) for them to be seen, with security for the drive(s) set to allow that user's name or the group they are in. If you set the permissions to "everyone", then you shouldn't have any trouble. Since I have two young-ish daughters using one of our computers, I've restricted their access to specific locations on the drive. In that case, the permissions I've set for them are specifically for those folders that I'll allow them to read, read/write, and/or read/write/modify. Hope this helps...

We have LAN for about 60 computers and the trouble is that my W2KP too often doesn't see a couple of workgroups thgrough Network neighborhood and also exploring them much slower than under Win98. Is there any solution for this problem?
