Comment:
I am running a win 2000 pro, computer name ALPHA. It was connecting to the network shares on the LAN. After rebooting, the shares are not working. When I try to reach the network shares, I get back "network shares are not allowed." ALPHA is able to ping the server and other computers via ip address and netbios names. Also ALPHA is able to reach the internet. I have tried to ping ALPHA from the server and other LAN computers using ip address and netbios names. But I am receiving a timed out message.
I have re-installed TCP/IP. I have jumped off the domain and changed the computer name. Then I logged back on to the domain. I was able to do the network shares on some computers. However the next morning I received the same error message, "network path not found." I have checked the shares and permissions and they look good.
