Hey guys, new guy here.
I am having a huge problem: I have one NIC on this Win 2003 Ent. Server. The NIC connects to a hub. The hub connects to my internet (DSL - fiber comes in from the wall - Ethernet PPPoE) and a switch that has 5 more PCs (XP pros). Well I format the system today, NIC was working, I set up DNS, DHCP, WINS, and RRAS. I was having problems with RRAS that was not giving any internet access so I figured a good restart was a good idea - when I did, my NIC hasn’t worked since. I have disabled it numerous times, uninstalled it, swapped the PCI slot, and restarted the system. I have checked with a laptop if the cable is working (it is), I have swapped cables; it still says "Network cable unplugged". I have tried swapping NICs’ with one I know works - still same message. Im out of ideas, please help.
Nm. I got it to work. If any of you are in the same problem: Shutdown, remove the card, boot it again, go into BIOS, Play with your IRQs change them around, boot windows, shutdown again - place the card back in, and that should work. :) Worked for me.
