I recently upgraded from Windows 98 to Windows 2000. Now I get an intermitant Network cable unplugged message.
I have a cable modem and a Davicom 9101/A network card.
I have unplugged and replugged the network cable. I have reinstalled the Network card drivers. I have loaded all the latest Windows updates.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you use the latest 2000 drivers, or are you using the installtion disk that came with the card? I found the 2000 drivers at http://www.driverguide.com/ for that card.

hai me too face the same problem
i installed the drivers which came along the

digi-5600tx pci fast ethernet adapter

Hi, Here is an idea. Stop the "WINS Client" - Service
Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > Wins Client > "Stop"
Then Right Click Switch to Manual. I have a DSL carrier that if I have the WINS CLient running (Which XP loads by default) it will cause the Network Cable Unplugged error to flash in and out.
This should work like a miracle cure. Stop the service and it all works. Start the service and it starts to error.
Good luck. Jay

I'm having the same problem. I get Network Cable Unplugged. I've restored the system using the computer manufacturers recovery CDs. I am using a cable modem with a RealTech 8139 Fast Ethernet NIC. I've tried using different Cat5 cables, disabling the network connection, uninstalling and reinstalling the network card -- all with no success. I've seen a couple of message regarding stopping the WINS Client Service but I can't find that in my control panel. I have a Compaq Presario 6370us desktop computer. Any help is appreciated.
