netgear Fa310tx and cable modem

hi, bought an netgear ethernet card model FA310tx the drivers are included in windows 2000 no problem but i read in the propriete "transmit treshold = 256 MAX" ??? my other ethernet card have 1024 MAX and don't take any cable connection with 256!!! my question is i need to wait a netgear dirvers before use this card with a cable modem ??? if someone can help me , thanks in advance christophe

i have the same card and the 2000 divers work great. it is running with the 256 and i still notice a big speed difference over 98se i have att cable and have notice a 100kb/s increase on some sites. i say go for the install all works great here
