Hi, I seem to be having a sorta common problem on these forums where net1.exe constantly pops up, drains my cpu usage %, and then disappears. I tried using Norton, AVG, Ad-aware and stuff but nothing really gets rid of it. I also noticed that there is no real final answer and people just kinda solve it on their own? or I'm just really dense either way this problem is taking a lot of my time. I appreciate any help! Thanks!
Otherwise, you might try deleting the file off your system. You probably won't be able to the regular way since it will probably be in use, but you can try one of two solutions:
1. Boot into the Recovery Console and browse to the file's locations and delete it.
2. Download a utility from www.sysinternals.com called Process Explorer. Run this program and do a search for Net1.exe, then terminate all processes and handles associated with that file. Then, you should be able to right click on it and delete it.
Yeah I read that thread but hijack this didn't give me explorer32.exe nor do I know how people know that was viral, I will try the process explorer though, thanks
So I found the net1.exe and deleted it in safe mode but I noticed cmd.exe, diskinfo.exe, and ntvdm.exe popping up one after another now. So I try to use process explorer and if I search for the handles enough times, eventually I'll catch it but when I click it, it'll say the process does not exist. So I took down the name of the file which was firedaemon.exe and diskinfo.exe, located it on my hard drive, removed it, then all was well. Thanks! :)
