Is it possible to do a "net use lpt1" statement to an IP address? My guess is NO but.....
Thanks.

Not sure exactly what you're trying for... but probably. Weather it's a host name or IP address, they reference the same object.......

Try looking into the Windows Help files for the Net Use command look at the syntax examples......

You guess of 'NO' is wrong. Sure you can. Net Use works fine with either netbios name or IP. net use lpt1 \\IP_Address should work fine.

IP of server hosting a printer, or of a printer? For the former, yes. For the latter, no. You'd need to set the printer up on the local w/s using a TCP/IP port, and specify that it's used for DOS programs.

I've talked about the HP printer.
I wanted to say XP had the driver and it's ok but when i try to print a test page it couldn't and it tells me document not printed.
I don't know what to do in the control panels there is no errors.
But in LPT and com i have com1,com2 but not LPT.
But after the installation it talled me that it is confiurated on LPT1.
I don't know what to do.
