NET SEND with Windows 2K

Hello, I am using Windows 2K Professional. We (DBA) use net send command to tell users when Database is ready to be requested against (maintenance, time-consumming request or feed-in finished etc...)
I cannot reach one of the users become his name is the same than his machine name. so : c:\NET SEND his_name/DOMAIN:FRANCE fails and brings an syntax-error message :
NET SEND {name | * | /DOMAIN[:name] | /USERS} message
c:\NET SEND his_machine message fails too.
It used to be OK when we were Windows NT + Windows 98. It doesn't works any more ... What can I do ???
