Hello,

I am unable to use the net send command and send a windows messenger message to any one outside the DSL network (my isp).

when i use 56k modem and send the command from Start/Run prompt "net send 66.25.1.25 hello" then the message is delivered fine. but when i use dsl modem the message can't be sent and get the error that the message could not be delivered.
(above ip is only an example of an ip which is working can be changed ot another ip)
Check list:
- using windows 2000.
- message can be sent to local workgroup., Yes.
- message can be received form local workgroup. Yes.
- message can be sent only to dishnet which start with the same ip of my ISp 61.11.**.**, Yes.
- message can be sent by using a dial up connection to another ip address outside of my isp ,Yes.
- I am able to ping to any Ip address outside the dsl network, yes.

i am using yahoo messenger and my yahoo id is : mysimplemail. if you want to chat with me online then you can im me.

Please let me know what can be wrong with my PC,.
i am unable to send or receive message from my counterparts in usa as they use different ip address instead of dsl.

I am sure you guys will know better what can be wrong , or which specific compoent is dependent for the messenger which can be off, but i have checked all the option, do give me your feedback ASAP.

2nd question:
I am also trying to send net send command through my local lan cable internet conection which is provided by our building.
I also can't send net send when connected to interent through the lan cable connection. although i am ble to ping and use other services but only net send is not working.

kind regards
sam

The net send command is not one I would try to use over a complex network...and the internet is complex. Programs like ICQ or MSN messenger are a lot better. If you don't mind my advice, use one of those (or something like them) and skip the net send command, you're only wasting your time.
