Running WIN2000 Serv. pack 2; Company networked PC accesing work with a domain then VPN. To complete a home network environment, wanted to add a "workgroup" environment since I did not want to have connectivity issues with work. So, I performed the following: - Through Network ID tab off 'My Computer', clicked on NET ID wizard, filled out "Part of Business network to connect to other computers - Next selected "Company uses Network without a domain", WIN2000 selected "Workgroup", and rebooted. Now, I am locked out. Since PC configured to ask for a password, typing in same password and user no longer works. Not sure where to go from here. Any help or recommendations is appreciated.

Try logging on as "administrator" with the password you entered during configuration.

Tried this approach, but the IT admin. imaged the laptop, and when I peformed the deed described above, no passwords were requested. So I typed in Administrator, and every conceivable password I can think of. He is out for 2 weeks to boot. Any other thoughts? Many thanks.

First off, how about you use your own name and email address plz :) Second, try it without a password if you haven't already and finally third, you should have discussed this with your IT tech before he left on holidays. The fact that it was installed form an image is irrelevant. What you should have done (aside from discussing this with your net admin first) is to have created another hardware profile for use at home. Now you're totally pooched and can't log on at home or at work.
