Need to rename HD to C from F on win2K

Comment:
I set up a new hard drive in win2k as slave to current C drive. Win2k assigned it F. When I made it the primary drive (removing the original) everything worked fine but it was not renamed to C as I expected. Is there a way to rename this and have all contents mapped by the os to C?

Sure. Right click on "My Computer" and go to "Manager". From here, select DIsk Managment. Right click the drive you want and select "Change drive letter or path". Hope this helps.
Actually, you can't rename a HDD to C: using that method in Win2K. The reason? It'll say you "can't rename a system/boot drive". To date, I don't believe there is a way to reassign drive letters if that drive is in use. Hope that clears things up :)

Download Partition Magic 7.0....you will be able to change the drive letter safely..otherwise all the paths for programs etc in the registry etc...will not be changed they will still refer to the C:...and a lot of stuff wont work...always use a drive mapper when changing letters
