Just put the cdrom in and start the install. Make sure you select CLEAN INSTALL not upgrade!!!

Select the new partitiona as the location to install to.

I tried the above suggestion. When the computer is restarting to install XP, I get the following error:
Setup cannot load the keyboard layout file KDBUS.DLL
Setup cannot continue. Shutdown or restart your computer.
I have installed XP on this machine before and it ran beautifully. I have tried registering the dll file through regsvr32 but to no avail. Can anyone help?

ah screw it, too much trouble..

Now I am stuck with selecting an OS to boot up with (Win2K or XP). The XP has to be some kind of boot entry because it's not there. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of it..
Thanks

Nope, all is screwed! Ok follow the below instructions and you'll be fine!

Ok, first fdisk your system, delete all partitons, then create one primary dos partition, then install Microsoft Windows XP and make sure you tell it to convert system to NTFS. Then after that, install Windows2000 (not in the same directory you installed Windows XP!). You don't need any partitions or anything, just one primary dos partiton and your set. And remember this, it will start on XP as default, it gives you about 15 or 25 seconds to switch to XP each time it boots. You also realise if you want to use the same programs on each, you will have to install them in seperate locations for each system (my choice would NOT USE PROGRAM FILES, then make a folder called Programs2000 and a foldr called ProgramsXP and then install all the programs in each the folder that matches the OS). Also a 19gig hard disk won't get you very far, you will want a 40gig or maybe even 60gig, a good place for cheap, fast hard disks is www.ebuyer.com
