Anyone know about bootsect.dos ...why is it unnecessary for windows 2000 and what would happen if any of these were missing such as:
boot.ini
ntdetect.com
ntldr
bootsect.dos
ntbootdd.sys
ntoskrnl.exe
i really appreciate ...pls send it ASAP

Not sure why you think win2k doesn't need bootsec.dos, but i do know that without the others win2k will not boot.

boot.ini, the boot strap loader
ntdetect.com, what is says, detects nt
ntldr, actually load win2k, (nt 5.0)
ntoskrnl.exe, the actual win2k program
