Comment:

I have Windows 2000 and the process 'navapsvc.exe' has recently been running forever and eating huge amounts of ram and CPU. What can be done to avoid this so that the computer does not slow to a crawl? Just recently started and I need to reboot to get back on track each time.

What is Norton Anti-Virus doing that would have only recently started?

Edit your settings so that Norton doesn't scan EVERYTHING... For example:

Do not scan outbound file transfers
Do not scan *.gif,*jpg, etc.
