Hi Aliocha. I would say you have one of two problems. first question is your mouse clean inside, how often do you clean it ?. second if your mous is clean, then I would say you have a Trojan on your machine. I f you have a Trojan I recomend you down load Trojan Remover. Have a nice day.

You could have also a virus. Scan your windows 2000 with an antivirus software.
First thing, GET A NEW MOUSE.. if it stops then there you go, make sure to get a different model mouse.

I get something like this from time to time... Next time it happens to you, press Ctrl-Alt-Del. When the 'Windows Security' dialog comes up, press Escape to return you to where you were.
This gets rid of it for me... another little W2000 quirk...

Hey guys, i have a optical mouse, not wireless. When i try to move my mouse it often trys to go against my will and goes in the oppoisit direction and i dont know why so im trying to pull down to a button and it just wont let me.. instead it pulls me up to the top. and randomly it makes my mouse go and turn in all directions. please help me and i dont know much about computers... but i know stuff
If you are using a mouse pad, then stop, use an all black mouse pad or no mouse pad at all.. when the mouse moves from dark to light at the optical end it will jump the cursor, messed up.
