I deleted the My Documents folder from my desktop without realizing that doing do would remove the icon from My Computer and my Save As dialogs. The only suggestion I found online for how to put the icon back on my desktop is to right-click on the desktop and select New -> My Documents folder, but creating a My Documents folder is not an option in that menu for me. My copy of win2k has all of the available SP's and patches and I'm running IE6, again with all the SP's and patches applied. If anyone could help me out this this I'd really appreciate it.

first logoff and re-enter as administrator. That should allow you to recreate it. What about reclaming it from the recycle bin?

Logging in as administrator didn't work. There's still no "My Documents folder" in the New menu option in the desktop context menu. And it's not in the recycle bin anymore.

Log in as the user whose icon you deleted.

Right-click My Computer and click Explore.

After Windows Explorer pops up, click Tools, then Folder Options.

After Folder Options pops up, click the View tab. Under Advanced Settings, toward the bottom, check the box for Show My Documents on the Desktop.
