I'm not 100% sure on the specs up there...

Now, on to my problem, lol. I've recently been getting alot of Spyware and such, got rid of it with SpyBot and CWSshredder, but now I can't access anything in my Control Panel. I tried doing it on different users (Of course, I can't make new users because of this) and nothing. I first discovered my problem when I right clicked on my desktop and clicked 'Properties' and nothing happened. I proceeded to my Control Panel and clicked 'Display', nothing. I clicked it a few more times, then it popped up and immediatly closed itself... I have been searching on Google, and found little help, so I came here. I've even gone into my System32 directory and clicked the *.cpl files to see if anything would work... so... do any of you know what I can do?

Btw, there is one thing I've found I can access, and that's the Add/Remove Programs thing... I also can access things that shortcut to folders (IE, Fonts and Scheduled Tasks).

If the problem started after you installed the anti-sypware, you have found your problem.

It sounds like a similar problem I had on a Win98 machine except it my case it said "access denied" to all of the conrol panel applets. I had to use sfc to extract a file from the original cd. I think it was a rundllxx file. Try searching Google for "control panel access denied spyware" and see what comes up. That's how I found the solution. I wish I could be more specific but its been a few weeks.
