This is a tricky one. I had my system set for dual monitors, primary on GeForce 2 MX400 and secondary on S3 ViRGE. This setup works fine, but I want to add another legacy card as a third adapter. This card is the Diamond Stealth64 (S3 Trio64 chipset). I have read that 2000 supports multiple PCI devices for multi-monitor configurations. However, as of now I cannot get the Diamond card to init. Driver installed fine, but "the device cannot start" as Windows Hardware Manager states. Does this have something to do with disabling VGA for that card? I read that this must be done, but I didn't have to worry about it for the Virge. My only other thoughts on this is that setting the BIOS to POST on the PCI device rather than the AGP one may automatically disable VGA (?). I'm really not sure. That's where my train of thought ends, so maybe someone else can catch it before it derails.
