Just installed MSN Messenger but it will not keep the password after a restart. I have gone into the Tools>Options and put User Name & Password in, I have clicked the little dude in the systems tray and signed in with the save password box checked. When I do a restart, it losses my password. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, but no change.

To start off I run XP which is a little different but you will likely be able to find what I'm saying....go to control panel> admin tools> services> scroll down till you see security accounts manager...something like that...look at properties of the service..it needs to be on automatic. That is the service to store passwords. You still have the option afterwards to not store a particular pass for prog that you want access for yourself only. A window comes up asking if you want windows to save password. You will likely have to reboot. Hope that helps some. At least that is what I have to do on mine. To change it to auto; when the properties window is open, click on the dropdown window, change it, then ok your way out.
