Iam using windows2000 & i want to unload some programs when windows2000 loads.Some programs automatically load & reside in my try.Previously iwas using windows98 & to unload unnecesary programs at startup i use msconfig at run . In Windows2000 "msconfig" command does not work on run .Please can u tell me that in windows2000 what should i use to to unload such of these programs at startup. Thnaks.

A program that I use my self and that works great for getting rid of those programs that you don't want on your startup is called StartupCPL. Here is a link that you can get it from: http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml. If that doesn't work just search google for StartupCPL. That should work for ya. Good Luck

Hi gardenair,
For some reason Microsoft left msconfig out of 2000. However, you can get the XP version at http://www.thetechguide.com/downloads.html (scroll down to the bottom of the page.)
After downloading, copy it into your c:\winnt\system32 folder (assuming 2000 is on drive c).
