Parts of the menu and task bars don't work. Example: You can't change the fonts nor the size of the fonts. If you go into tools some of the things don't work. I've uninstalled Word 97 and reinstalled it and the problems are the same. I've uninstalled it again and installed Word 2000 and the problem persists. I don't know what to do anymore!

It could be the old "Personalised" menus as in Win2ooo. Try 1) go to start ->settings ->taskba and start menu and uncheck "use peronalized menus" and 2) in word go to Tools ->options and alsso customise and check settings there.
Thanks CTC. I tried what you said but to no avail. I don't know too much about computers and all that.I guess I don't even know how to explain my problem. You told me to try -tools- but that is just the point. If I click on tools it doesn't do anything. Nothing works! A few things work on the bar but most of them don't. Thanks for anything that you can add.
