I'am running Windows 2000 server on a 200 Mhz computer and have tried to move the harddisk to a P3-450Mhz so everything will work faster but it don't work. Windows just puts a bluescreen when I'am booting up that there is a new hardware or something that making a problem. Everything is new for the Os i guess. But it's plug and play so it should work. It doesn't work to just run w2k in failsafe either. So I donät know what to do. I don't want to install everyting from the begining. I got lot of special configurations and programs that I want to work.

Listen up moe moe....I've never heard of something dumber on a Windows server...linux...possible...but certainly not on windows. Install is set to hardware specifics or you will blue screen and get no where. Now I hope your not using that server for a company and getting paid for it...too stupid to get paid for ....learn to read..then learn Microsoft NT/2000...moe oe
You failed to mention if this HDD is one of several on your old system? Is it set to Master? Does your BIOS have Large Disk Support enabled? Is it SCSI? Is the partition active? Need a little more info here, friend. To take a HDD to another case and install it should be a piece of cake in any event unless something was overlooked. Check some things. And IGNORE the Response Number 1 post - apparently he was neglected as a child. Rude people like that deserve no respect, so just ignore the post :)

In addition to what Jinx said....if the HDD contains your operating system, you will want to boot with the 2000 CD, begin the install process and choose the Repair option when it appears. This "should" update the OS to the new hardware configuration.
(neglected....I think more like dropped on his head!)
