I trying to prepare for moving existing pdc on win 2000 server from an old computer to new dell’s server… can anyone advice me what is the best approach for this project.
Here is my plan.
1. Install win 2000 server on new computer 2. Join the domain. 3. execute dcpromo. At this point I’m going to end up with PDC (old computer) and BDC (new server) WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE???

NO SUCH THING AS BDC IN A WINDOWS 2000 ENVIRONMENT!!! That is the correct plan, once the new server is promoted you just have to change the new server to take over all of the Operations Master roles.
