Comment:

I have a network setup with a parent domain and have a DC installed in it. I then setup various child domains and installed 2 DC's in each. I accidently installed one of the DC intended for a child domian in the parent domain. Is there any way of moving this DC from the parent domian into the correct child domain. I know you can use the move option within users and computers to move a DC within the same domain but is it possible to move one from a parent domain to a child domain

Yes it is, to do so you could use dcpromo to demote it back to a standalone server, then run dcpromo again and join it to the correct domain.
